EMI / EMC Electronics Technician

Job Description

  • Provide measurement data to be included in customer technical reports.
  • Perform Wireless, Telecommunications, Immunity and Emission testing per requirements detailed in international standards and written test procedures. Maintain knowledge of proper operational procedures of all test equipment including spectrum analyzers, EMC receivers, preamplifiers, signal generators, antennas, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Keeps up to date in all relevant knowledge and skills areas to meet job requirement by by attending training sessions, external seminars, and reading related articles.
  • Communicate in a courteous and effective manner with internal and external customers in all circumstances including answering questions, relaying messages and providing information with regard to standards, test procedures, technical recommendations for compliance and certification requirements.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and timeliness.
  • Perform other related duties.
  • AS in Electrical Engineering or Physics, or equivalent experience.
  • Experienced with Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters, Oscilloscopes and Network Analyzers.
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous and effective manner with internal and external customers in all circumstances including answering questions, relaying messages and providing information with regard to standards, test procedures, technical recommendations for compliance and certification requirements
  • Experience in service environment is helpful, as is exposure to project management
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and software automation tools such as Labview or HP/Agilent VEE Programming Environments.
  • Ability to plan and organize giving attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to work independently.
